The Kentucky Headhunters, a Southern country rock band, originated in Kentucky and released its debut album "Pickin' on Nashville" in 1989. It featured the singles "Walk Softly on This Heart of Mine", "Oh Lonesome Me", "Dumas Walker", and "Rock 'n' Roll Angel", all of which charted in the Top 40 on the Hot Country Songs charts.

The Kentucky Headhunters has released ten studio albums, three compilations, and twenty-three singles. In addition, the band has won three Country Music Association awards, an Academy of Country Music award, and a Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
